     We started our activity on 10 April 1995. Students learnt how to write documents in HTML language. Now hey help out giving others information and important suggestions. One particular attainment was an installation of the local area computer network, it helps us to work quickly and more effectively. As one of the first secondary schools in Poland we elaborate and we made accessible on network, our own WWW sites. We display information about our school, history, geography of Olecko and the region Mazury.

     On our WWW sites we have made accessible a place for pupils from a secondary school in Punsk (in Lithuanian). We also have contacts with the pupils at the secondary school in Wegorzewo (in Polish and Ukrainian). We know that lots of people have read our web pages because we have had lots of messages from them, for example from: USA, Australia and Germany. We are visible on the World Internet. We are particularly welcome to former residents of Olecko and ex-pupils of our school. We have been invited by the European Union to join in a Web for Schools project. The representative from our school took part in a conference 'Web for Schools' in Dublin (Ireland) and by the University of Tartu, Estonia and at the seminar 'Education on the Internet' in 1997 and 1999.

Attainments of a group of our pupils:

• we took part in a TV program on Educational TV called "Internet w Jedynce". Twice we won the first prize,

• as the only school from Poland we are taking part in the world programme "Cyber Fair",

• we are taking part in the "Think Quest" programme ,three teams from our group are completing projects : "From totalitarism to democracy", "Heads Up",

• the sites of Suwalski National Park which we have set up ,can be found on the server at the World Exhibition of Technology and Science at World Expo'96,

• as the first school in Poland we have made education materials for the Internet 'The changes in Europe's climate" and map of satellite imaging of the landscape around Olecko,

• computer graphics by our pupils have found a place on WWW.

The computer room of the Internet group from school in Olecko will be a place, where young people will be able to spend their free time.
